Welcome to mickswicks.co.uk a company that started from a life changing major stroke and a new hobby.

In February 2020 I had a totally unexpected major stroke just as I was about to start work, this left me without any use or feeling in my left side, and as a class 1 truck driver and a very active busy person this hit me very hard, not only me but also my partner Trudy, and a lot of our close friends.

After months of physiotherapy and hard work and lot of bad days I started on the idea of making my own candles, especially as Trudy use to spend loads on candles.

And so it began, NOT easy I have to say, I think Trudy did most of the work I helped (by keeping out of the way) but eventually it was getting too much, so I was about to give up when Trudy suggested wax melts!

Now that made life a lot easier, it still had its moments, but this was the start.

So still with very little use on my left side we pressed on, setting up this web site which apparently should be a day or two's work at the most, but it took about six to eight weeks, but we got there and improving as and when.

A few more months down the line and here we are, slowly developing the candles to what I call near perfect, but this is still proving difficult, also making gorgeous smelling wax melts which seem to last forever, I'm loving every minute of it and the therapy it gives back in return is stunning.

It has definitely given me a new lease of life.

So, from a dire start to the year brings new beginnings, onward and upwards.

In addition to the aforementioned items, we have now expanded fully into reed diffusers as they seem to be outselling everything else and of course the car air fresheners, and loads more stuff being added from time to time.

The thing that we both love most is when people leave reviews and give their opinion on the products and how happy they are, it lets us know we must be doing something right, and within excess of 60 fragrances now available there is almost something for everyone.
